NAPLAN ONLINE – PARENT INFORMATION SESSION TONIGHT

Year 3 and 5 families are invited to attend an information session tonight to prepare for the upcoming NAPLAN assessments which begin Tuesday May 15th.  We are running NAPLAN Online using iPads. Please remember NAPLAN is a one off assessment across Reading, Writing, Language Conventions (Spelling, Grammar and Punctuation) and Mathematics.  NAPLAN is but 1 test, 1 day for 1 hour (repeated 4 times).  It does not measure your child’s creativity, imagination, kindness, dancing, kicking or ball skills.  It does not give information about their talent for singing, their love of animals nor how funny their jokes are.   It does not know if grandma is sick, or if the car broke down on the way to school.  It can not predict the future nor tell the past.   Your child is more than a test.  We know this.

Rebuild Information

Last week we were given a sneak peek into the new building! It is coming along well, and to schedule. This week we have seen the commencement of the decking which will provide access to our new buildings.

Year 7 Secondary School Applications – DUE TO BE RETURNED BY 10th MAY

We had a great turn out by families to our Year 7 Transition information session. Please note all Year 6 students have been provided with applications forms to complete to apply for their preferred secondary school for 2019.  We encourage all families to attend open days, information sessions and tours of your preferred schools to ensure your applications are as successful as possible.

Mother’s Day Stall

Mother’s Day is fast approaching, our annual stall will be held on Thursday 10th May.  Students can bring money to purchase some lovely gifts for mum and at the same time support our school with fundraising.  Please make sure any money bought along is clearly labeled and passed in at the office or to the Learning Space teacher if you feel that this would be more secure.  Raffle tickets can be purchased from the front office.
