Student Learning Conferences

Thursday 27th June all day from 9am – 7pm

Students are required to come along to their conference with parents

Kelly club can be booked via Angela for families who require care during the day.

Parents are to book a Student Learning Conference on COMPASS.

We want 100% of students booked so we can celebrate all our students.

If you need assistance to do this, come see Dean, Kellie or Ling in the office.  Parents who require an interpreter can order one via the booking system.  All efforts are made to obtain interpreters on the day, yet cannot be guaranteed based on availability.

This form of Parent Teacher interview differs in that the student takes the lead and will be presenting to their parents their learning goal in Reading.  We have extended our allocated time to 20 minutes for each conference.  Parents will have the opportunity to listen to their child share their Reading goal, the Steps to Success that they have or are taking to achieve their goal and how you can help them.  There will then be time to discuss other areas for your child, ask questions and form stronger bonds between home and school.  This is always a great day celebrating our students successes.

Semester 1 Reports

Student achievement reports will be released via COMPASS on Tuesday 25th June.  If you prefer a hard copy printed report, parents are to request this from the office tomorrow (FINAL DEADLINE) to allow time for printing.  Hard copies will be handed out at Student Learning Conferences on Thursday 27th June.

We welcome Rita Batras to the Foundation team for Term 3 and 4.  Rita is a very familiar face around Glengala having completed her final Pre-Service placements with us back in 2017, and working as a part time and casual teacher over 2018/19.   Rita brings with her a passion and enthusiasm for our students and we are very excited to have her join our Glengala Family. #GlengalaPROUD

Term 3 Planning Week

Next week sees our teaching teams spending a day planning their programs for Term 3. This will mean that one day of next week your child will have Specialist teachers and their programs for an entire day.  Your child may benefit from talking about this information prior to school next week.  The schedule is as follows;

  • Monday – Foundation – 2 Team Planning Day
  • Tuesday – 3-6 Team Planning Day
  • Wednesday – Specialist Team Planning Day

School Pick-up and Drop off Times Safety

Please ensure to note the road signs for parking and speed when travelling around the school.  Parents need to observe the Road Safety signs and give each other respect when moving around the school at pick up and drop off times.
