Semester 1 Reports & Parent Teacher Interviews

It will be terrific to see families at our Parent Teacher Interviews tomorrow. Our reports focus on student achievements throughout Semester 1 and looks at their goals for Semester 2 in English, Maths, Integrated Studies, Science, Visual Arts and PE.  There is also a bigger focus on the importance of attending school regularly and student leadership roles. Thank you to our hard working staff who have spent considerable time completing reports and preparing for tomorrow’s Parent Teacher Interviews.  A reminder that Thursday is a student free day.

Assembly

From the beginning of Term 3 we will be changing the day and time of our weekly assembly. From week 1 we will hold our weekly assembly from 2.45-3.15pm Friday afternoons. The focus of our weekly assembly will be celebrating the learning of students from each of our Learning Spaces.  We will continue to present student awards and highlight important upcoming school happenings. We hope lots of parents will take the opportunity to visit their child’s Learning Space before the weekly assembly from 2.15pm to see learning in action.

Red Nose Day

A reminder that Junior School Council have organised an out of uniform day on Friday with the theme of Red linking in with Red Nose Day. Please wear red and bring a gold coin to support Red Nose Day and the SIDS Foundation.

School Tours

Tours of our wonderful school for families interested in enrolling their child in 2018 have begun. Tours will be conducted every Thursday morning at 9.15am until the end of the year or alternatively by appointment. If you would like a tour, have friends or neighbours who would like a tour please contact the school 9311 7810 or glengala.ps@edumail.vic.gov.au to book a place.

End of Term – Friday 30th June

It’s hard to believe but Friday is the last day of Term 2, meaning we are already half way through the 2017 school year! Being the last day of term we finish earlier – 1.40pm. Please ensure that arrangements have been made for your children to be collected early on this day or booked into our After School program Kelly Club Glengala if you require it.

School Security

We seek your assistance in discouraging any people who may misuse our grounds over the holidays. If you happen to notice any person on our school grounds that are engaging in any type of dangerous or destructive behaviour please do not hesitate to call the police on 000.

Finally I’d like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a restful and safe break. We look forward to seeing everyone back on Monday 17th July ready for an action packed Term 3.
