Glengala Gazette – Issue #22

Thank you to everyone who has been reinforcing our school wide expectations as highlighted in our newsletter this term. It has been very pleasing to hear the positive reception this has received and the lift in achieving and exceeding these expectations by the vast majority of students and community.

All of our staff will be teaching and reinforcing our school expectations on an ongoing basis moving forward.

You might have noticed your child coming home with a raffle ticket or quite a few raffle tickets this week. These raffle tickets are awarded to students who are demonstrating our Positive Behaviour Matrix focus behaviour of the week. All staff have raffle books to award each and every student they see demonstrating the behaviour. A draw will occur each week at assembly for the winning students to receive a special prize/reward.

We’re very excited that this time next week will be the day for our annual Whole School Concert. This concert will be held at 6.30pm on Thursday 8th August at Sunshine Secondary College Senior Campus auditorium on Graham St. Students have been doing an amazing job rehearsing and the excitement is building around the opportunity to again perform on the big stage! A final opportunity to help with prop and costume development is taking place tomorrow at 1.45pm.

Check out the special edition concert newsletter which accompanies today’s newsletter.

100 Days of Foundation

Tomorrow our Foundation students will be celebrating their 100th day at school! It is amazing to see the huge amount of learning & development our Foundation students have achieved in their first 100 days. I’m confident students will enjoy their day of celebration and especially the chance to come to school dressed up as a 100 year old person. Families of Foundation students are invited to attend the Learning Space from 11.45am to join in the fun.

National School Tree Day

Last Friday the whole school participated in National School Tree Day by planting trees and bushes in various gardens around our school. Thanks to the Environmental Team who organised this event for our school. Thank you also to our groundskeeper Sab who organised 50 free plants and prepared the planting sites in advance. It would be great if everyone could RESPECT our gardens and stick to our walking paths to give our new plants a chance to establish themselves and create lush gardens for us all to enjoy.

If you have questions, feedback or are experiencing any difficulties in relation to our school expectations, or any other area please don’t hesitate in contacting any member of our Principal Class Team by phone, email or in person.
