Parent Opinion Survey
It is that time of year again where the Department of Education seek feedback from members of our community to help support improvement, and celebrate the achievements of the last 12 months here at Glengala. Families have been randomly selected to participate in an online survey which is due before the end of August. If your family has been selected you will have received an email with directions and a link to respond to your uniquely identifiable survey. Your survey will appear in your selected language that you have set on your browser or mobile device. Once you have completed your survey please call and let the office know so that your family can receive a canteen voucher, (1 per family), to thank you for taking the time to offer your insights. Your input is greatly appreciated.
Cyber Safety – Students Playing “Fortnight”
We have noticed an increase in negative behavior of students at school who have reported playing the free online multi-player game “Fortnight”. We need your support to encourage healthy and positive online habits and interactions with students at school and at home. Part of our Technology user agreement for every child is that they behave safely and responsibly in online environments at school and at home. “Fortnight” is an online multiplayer shooter style game which is not moderated, therefore young players may be exposed to offensive language from random strangers via voice or on screen text chat. You can support your child by moderating interactions if playing online games, placing limits to time spent playing games and encouraging your child to report unsafe behavior whilst playing these games. We will be hosting a Parent eSmart session in eSmart week, keep an eye on the calendar for dates and times.

Rebuild Information – Stage 1 and 2
Our new synthetic turf which leads to our amphitheater and the new temporary administration building is finished. This will be a lovely place for students and staff to engage in learning, enjoy each others company and share school celebrations. A planning meeting has been held for Stage 2 and plans are being developed. At this stage demolition of the North Building will commence during the September school holidays. More information will be made available as it comes to hand.
Uniform
It is pleasing to see most students in full uniform. A reminder that blue is our main colour, any undershirts can be light blue or white, and leggings must be navy. There is a full range of affordable uniform available from the office and local businesses, including warm jackets to counter the cold winds during winter. If you would like assistance with purchasing uniforms please come and speak to Kathy, Jenny or Kellie in the office.
