Today our local member Marsha Thomson notified us that our South Wing of the school will be demolished and rebuilt as part of a $1.5 million investment in the school as part of the Victorian Governments School Asbestos Removal Program. This building is currently home to our 3/4 and 5/6 Learning Space students. We will continue to update the school community via our school newsletter & social media sites as we find out more information, including dates, designs, etc. Please see the media release from the Deputy Premier and Minister for Education James Merlino.
What a great time students & staff had at the 3-6 Camp at Iluka! They enjoyed canoeing, bush art & craft, a trip to the beach, many laughs and made so many memories. Thank you to our staff – Diana, Edith, Elise, Josie, Max & Paul who gave their time and sleep to provide an exciting and educational camp experience for our students. Camp is an enjoyable time where students and staff are able to make vital connections; it is also a tiring time and requires significant extra commitment from our staff. Thank you to each of you – I know that students gain lots from this great opportunity and parents greatly appreciate it too. Thank you to our Camp Coordinator, Elise, for organising camp. #GlengalaProud
Thank you to the 130+ students who are participating in swimming and have demonstrated terrific behaviour and our school values during the first week of our 10 day intensive program. We have had great feedback from instructors and our staff on students listening to instructions, supporting each other and team work for getting to and from school & the pool. We have one more week of swimming to finish the term.
Our Prep, 1/2 and 5/6 students have all completed their Life Education sessions with our 3/4 students to have their session tomorrow. Life Education will become a biannual incursion for students as part of our 2 year wellbeing cycle of teaching and learning.
