Building Redevelopment – $1.5million – OPENING TERM 2 2018
Very exciting news last week regarding redevelopment of the South Building which currently houses our Year 3-6 students. Today our Executive team has met with representatives from the Victorian School Building Authority, architects, structural engineers, Department representatives and sustainability and landscaping project teams to look over designs for the redevelopment. We will keep our community informed as details come to hand. This fantastic development will require that the shade covering that has been approved by school council will be placed on hold until the completion of the new south building.
Swimming Program
Our swimming program finishes up tomorrow. Staff and students have worked very hard to maintain routines and keep actively learning over the past 2 weeks. All students have participated in learning activities around water safety. We thank you all for your support and encouragement of your children over this time. It has been great to see the many budding Ian Thorpe’s and Liesel Jones’ in our school. All students have participated in learning activities around water safety.
Last Day of School finish 1.40pm
This Friday is our last day of Term 3. Students are to be collected at 1.40pm. After school care is available at Kelly Club for those families unable to collect students at this time. Please contact Angela to book your place.
2018 Prep Transition Dates
We will be running ‘Step Into Prep’ sessions for 2018 Prep students and parents over Term 4. These sessions are designed to provide children with opportunities to become familiar with the school environment, meet their teachers, make friends and form connections to our community. We encourage your child to attend as many of these sessions as possible. These sessions will last approximately one hour and will be held in our Library Learning Centre at Glengala Primary School.

We are currently finalising our 2018 enrolments. If you have a child due to start in 2018, or know of a child due to start please ensure you complete your enrolment ASAP. This includes children enrolling at ANY year level of the school. We need accurate enrolment numbers to assist with planning for staffing and programming.
Staff Learning and Development
The end of this term sees us farewell Michelle from our 1/2 Learning Space. Michelle has been successful in securing a role at a school closer to home. We wish her all the best for the future and thank her for her work over the past 5 terms at Glengala.
Recently Hang attended a professional learning with Sue Larkey on helping students with autism spectrum disorder.
We wish all our families and community members a safe and relaxing holiday. We look forward to seeing you all on our first day back for a fun-filled Term 4.
