School Council Student Free Day

On Monday students are not required to attend school.  Staff will be participating in professional learning around new government initiatives and Department of Education strategies lead by our eager staff Josie, Edith, Sarah and Paul based on the Learning Specialist Professional Learning that they have been participating in this term.

Rebuild Information

This week sees the arrival of the portables to the oval.  It will take a couple of weeks to finish setting them up for students to move into.  It is very exciting watching the crane lift the buildings into their new temporary home.  Unfortunately during this time the oval will be closed for students to allow access for works and for the safety of the students.    We will let you all know more information as soon as it becomes available.

Prep Transition has begun!

This past Tuesday saw the first of our series of Prep 2018 transition afternoons.  It was lovely to meet so many of our new preps and their families.  They all enjoyed sitting and listening to Louise read Mem Fox’s “Where is the green sheep?” and making their own sheep to take home.  Our next afternoon is in 2 weeks at 2.15pm on Tuesday the 14th of November.  Moving On Up transition activities will begin over the next few weeks with each year level spending some time in their next learning space. Staff to be announced as so as possible.

Great Mini-Art Expo and BBQ Last Week

We had a fantastic turn out for our mini-art show last Thursday.  The BBQ raised $200 to support our Year 6 Graduation.  Thank you to all who supported our school, to staff who gave their time and to Diana and the fabulously talented students who displayed some emerging art works, including our winning art installation from the recent community art project.

Book Fair

We have our final book fair of the year beginning Monday November 13th.  More information is contained inside the newsletter.

2018 Enrolments & School Tours

We are currently finalising our 2018 enrolments. Enrolment Tours are every week Thursday 9.15am. Please ring the office to book your place. If you have a child due to start in 2018, or know of a child due to start please ensure you complete your enrolment ASAP. This includes children enroling at ANY year level of the school. We need accurate enrolment numbers to assist with finalising staffing and programming.

As always, if you have any concerns or celebrations you wish to share please come and see myself or Kris any time.
