Bunnings BBQ Volunteers

With the busy Christmas period ahead of us, School Council would like to ask if you are able to volunteer some time on Saturday the 16th of December to support our annual Bunnings BBQ fundraiser.  You can cook on the BBQ or handle food sales.  All proceeds from this day are directed towards supporting our Graduating Year 6 and School Council fundraising commitments.  Please look through the newsletter to find information on how you can sign up to help out at the BBQ.

Year 6 Graduation

Families of our graduating Year 6 students have received their ticket request form for our Graduation in the Library Learning Centre on Tuesday 12th December.  Please respond with correct names and number as soon as possible so that this event can be appropriately planned for.

Moving On Up Transition Times

Student have been enjoying their Moving On Up sessions each Friday from 12 noon-1.40pm.  The aim of these sessions is to give students a chance to see what life will be like next year as they move up the school.  We aim to ease fears and provide familiar supports for students as they move through the school. Staff prepare activities that work on building relationships and make students feel comfortable in their new space.  We will continue these weekly, until the Statewide Transition Day on Tuesday 12th December when students will spend time with their 2018 teachers.

Rebuild Information

No news is good news! We are awaiting the provision of further information as the plans are being finalized.  We will continue to keep you as informed as possible as information becomes available.

Curriculum Planning for 2018

Over the final 3 weeks of the school year, all staff will be working to forward plan for 2018.  We will be building on the great work that has occurred this year with developing our Guaranteed and Viable Curriculum with a focus on Mathematics and the work we have undertaken with our partnership with the Mathematical Association of Victoria (MAV).  This partnership will continue into 2018 and we look forward to working with our Numeracy Coach Cathy Epstein and the MAV team.

End of Year Reports – To be handed out in the last week of school

Staff have been spending many weeks, and weekends, preparing the end of year student reports, which will be handed out to families in the last week of school. Many students have shown fantastic growth in a range of learning areas.  If you would like a parent teacher interview, please contact your learning space teachers to make arrangements prior to this time.
