Glengala Gazette – Issue #37

Finishing on a high note!
We are entering our final few weeks of school for 2018. In these last few weeks it is important to keep as well rested and nourished as possible. At this time of year it is easy for students to become tired and emotional. We will keep learning right to the end, and we appreciate your support with guiding our students through the end of the year. Please remember we have our Allied Health team who can help families access supports to ensure a happy and healthy holiday period.

End of Year Reports
End of year student reports will be made available directly through COMPASS during the last week of term. If you require a printed report, you will need to request this through the office before the end of term.

COMPASS
We have access to a fantastic online communication tool COMPASS, which enables us to have a 1-stop-shop for our school-home communication needs. If you don’t already have access to COMPASS, feel free to come to the office and ask for your unique username and password for access.

Volunteer Thank You Celebrations!
We look forward to celebrating our many end of year occasions with all of our families. Our volunteer morning tea will take place on Friday 14th December at 11.15am. We appreciate all our volunteer’s efforts and commitment to helping out in many different ways across the school. Please come and join us to enjoy a delicious token of our appreciation.

Changes to Our Regular Timetable
As we come to the end of the year we have quite a few big projects underway here at school. Next week we are scheduled to commence our move of the Administration office and services. We are yet to have a time confirmed for the move so we will keep you updated on our social media, and via COMPASS regarding our gate access changes. We will also need to move all of our Art and teaching resources. This means that the Specialist timetable will need to be adjusted to support staff and students with the update.

Moving On Up Sessions
Each Wednesday we offer all our students the opportunity to “Move On Up” to their next year level for one hour. This supports our students to become more familiar with new students in their peer group, build relationships with staff and, in some cases, move Learning Spaces. We find that this extended supported transition also helps new students to connect to their new school and feel welcome into the #GlengalaPROUD family.

Celebrating our Fabulous Students!
Congratulations Peace. Peace was presented with an Achievement Award through the Department this week.

Rebuild Information
We are still in a holding pattern for further information on Stage 2 of our rebuild. We will let you know as soon as we have information to share.
