Can you believe there are only two weeks to go until the end of the year! Where has the year gone? Our last two weeks of school are jam-packed with activities, as we celebrate the culmination of a year of learning, welcome the festive season and plan for the year ahead in 2017.
Transition and Moving On Up Days
There are two more Transition and Moving On Up Days for the year, this Friday, December 2nd, from 2.15 pm to 3.15 pm, and Tuesday December 6th from 9.30 am to 11.00 am. Students will be undertaking a range of learning activities with their 2017 teachers during these times. Parents are welcome to attend the Friday session as part of our usual “Open Hour” session. Prep 2017 parents are requested to attend the Prep Information Session, held from 9.30 am in the Professional Learning Room, where we will provide information about the school, Before and After School Care, Uniform, and financial assistance available to families.
Year 7 2017 Orientation Day and Graduation
Year 6 students are excitedly awaiting next Tuesday, December 6th, where they will spend the day at their new Secondary College for Orientation Day. All families should have received information packs from their school regarding organisation for the day. Year 6 students DO NOT need to attend Glengala Primary School on Tuesday; they should attend directly to the Secondary School they are enrolled at. We look forward to welcoming our Year 6 students back during the evening for their Graduation ceremony from 6 pm for a 6.30 pm start.
End of Year Reports
Teachers are busy finalising their End of Year Reports for all students. Reports will be provided to parents on Tuesday December 13th. They will be handed out to students in a sealed envelope; please check your child’s bag that evening for their report. Please contact Sam C or Chris Sacco if additional copies of reports are needed.
Christmas Carols
We are looking forward to welcoming all our families to our annual Christmas Carols Concert on Monday December 12th, starting at 5.30 pm. Students have been busy practising their singing and dancing, and are ready to entertain you. Families are invited to bring a picnic rug and share in our last full school activity for the year. We will have a bbq and some stalls available for you to purchase food and small gifts. We hope that you can join us!
Learning Space Celebrations
Learning spaces will be holding a shared celebration for the end of the year on the last Thursday of term (December 15th). Learning space teachers will send a note to inform you of details about the celebration.
If you have any questions, feedback or are experiencing any difficulties, please do not hesitate to give Kris or myself a call, send an email or come in and have a chat.
