Welcome to Glengala Primary School!
As Principal, I feel incredibly proud and privileged to lead a school where every child is known, valued and supported to thrive. Glengala is a small, vibrant school with a big heart, where learning and wellbeing go hand in hand, and where our Glengala PROUD values of being Passionate, Respectful, Open to learning, Understanding and Driven underpin everything we do.
At Glengala, we are committed to improving outcomes for all learners through a clear and consistent focus on high-quality teaching and genuine collaboration. Our professional learning communities (PLCs) are intentionally designed to ensure staff are working together to unpack data, identify student needs, and plan for impact. We talk about giving our teachers the “slice” of the focus, while they decide on the “crumb”, to ensure rigour with room for teacher voice. This balance is crucial to how we grow together as a team.
Our classrooms are places of curiosity and challenge, with a strong emphasis on explicit teaching and targeted support. Students benefit from flexible groupings, small group instruction, and learning goals they help shape and own. We use real-time data, student voice, and ongoing feedback to continually reflect and refine our practice.
Beyond the classroom, Glengala is a connected and inclusive community. We embrace the diverse experiences and strengths our families bring, and we actively partner with them to support student learning and wellbeing. In 2026, we are especially excited to welcome a new on-site kindergarten, a key step in deepening our commitment to high-quality, community-connected education from the early years onwards.
Whether you're a prospective family, a returning community member, or simply exploring who we are, I warmly invite you to visit Glengala and see our values in action. Our school is growing not only in numbers, but in reputation, and we’re proud of the strong culture we’re building together.
Please don’t hesitate to contact our office on (03) 9311 7810 to arrange a school tour. We’d love to meet you.
Warm regards,
Kristy Herridge
